Strength For The Day!

"In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety." -Psalm 4:8

If you have time to lie down today for a nap, do it and lie down in peace.  If there is no time for a nap, then live your day in peace.  Whatever you do, be at peace...peace with God, peace with others.  The God who died and rose for you will keep you safe!

It's a great day for a great day!
Satan Defeated!
Salvation Secure!

1st Sunday in Lent

Being “tempted” may make us think of the creamy alfredo sauce or rich chocolate cake which leads some to overindulge. In God’s view, temptation to sin is a far bigger problem. God says the one who tempts us, by our lack of self-control, is Satan himself (1 Corinthians 7:5). Temptation happens, God also says, when by our own evil desires we are dragged away and enticed (James 1:14). So? “Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.” No wonder Jesus tells his disciples, “Watch and pray so that you will not enter into temptation” (Luke 22:46).
This Sunday's Topic/Idol: : FAMILY

One of the greatest blessings that God gives us in this lifetime is the gift of family. Almost irrespective of how smooth or troubled a person’s family life has been, regardless of whether they are a believer or unbeliever, virtually every single person on the planet will tell you that “family” is a beautiful concept. When organizations of people with no biological ties are functioning really well, the environment is often described as “like a family.” When you see that type of praise used universally, it’s obvious that a blessing is inherently wonderful.

But is it possible that family ties could be too close? Can even family become a very real idol to us—a good thing that we’re tempted to turn into a god thing?

Lets learn together what God has to say!
See you Sunday at 8:30 am!

The season of Lent is marked by a time of prayer and preparation to celebrate Easter.  This forty-day (the Sundays of Lent are excluded from this number) season of the church year begins on Ash Wednesday.  We use this period for self-examination and repentance and as a special time to ponder the suffering and death of our Savior.  It is also a time of humble joy as we confidently remember that the price is paid, sins are covered, and death is defeated.

Please join us for the special mid-week services that will be held during the season of Lent at Living Savior each Wednesday at 7:00 pm.  This year we will look at Jesus’ passion under the theme

Remember in Prayer...
  • Daniel Greene (grandson of Donna Greene) - Daniel was in a severe car accident.  He is continuing to recover at Craig in Denver.
  • Miah Moore - Experiencing burdensome back pain.
  • Pam Griffin (Morning Westerberg's mother) - Battling cancer. Pray that the Lord might open her heart that she might see the light of God's love in Jesus.
  • Family of Lorraine Gordero -  (friend of Chris and Jamie Collyard) Lorraine was recently called to victory at her Savior's side after a difficult battle with cancer.
  • Merlin Camrud - Experiencing significant pain and challenges related to his physical health.
Don't forget to pray for the work we are able to do together as part of the WELS (Wisconsin Ev. Lutheran Synod). Here is a suggestion:
  • Mission Journeys program – Lord Jesus, by your Great Commission you directed us to go and make disciples. Make us eager to do that. Bless programs like WELS Mission Journeys, which provides the opportunity for WELS members to take a short trip to help with ministry at a WELS home or world mission. Fill participants with your Spirit so that they bring home with them the joy and enthusiasm for witnessing your salvation to others. Amen.
Prayer request? Email Pastor Koelpin.
