Announcing the Scottish Awards for New Music 2019

New Music Scotland are pleased to announce that nominations for The Scottish Awards for New Music 2019 are now open from until Friday 22nd March. www.newmusicscotland.co.uk/awards2019

Winners of the 2018 awards

The nominations are now open for this years Scottish Awards for New Music. This year there are twelve categories:

The Dorico Award for Small Scale New Work sponsored by Steinberg (1-10 performers)
Large Scale New Work (11+ performers)
New Music Recording of the Year
EVM Award for Electroacoustic/Sound Art Work
Collaboration in New Music
Community/Education Project
Contribution to New Music in Scotland
New Music Performer(s) of the Year
Creative Programming
The Good Spirits Company award for Innovation in New Folk Music sponsored
Innovation in New Jazz Music
Making It Happen Award

Nominations can be made by anyone on the New Music Scotland website (www.newmusicscotland.co.uk/awards2019) where full details, and eligibility and submission criteria are also available.

Call for Designers

We are also looking for an artist to create the awards themselves. The awards from previous years have been created by Daisy Chetwin and Elaine Henderson. There is a fee and materials budget.
