Asthma is extremely common for children under the age of 15. There were 3,050 children admitted to hospital with asthma in 2017, and some of these will have had a potentially life-threatening attack!
We would love to ensure that kiwi kids know how to help themselves and others when an asthma emergency happens. It could take place, anywhere and any time. But we need your schools' help!
We're inviting your school to take part in World Asthma Day on Tuesday 7 May. Free activity packs will be provided to schools who sign up to participate, and the focus will be on #kidshelpingkidsNZ and asthma awareness.
There will also be prizes to give away, and different ways schools and kindergartens can get involved. It is open to:
- early childhood education centres
- primary schools
- intermediate schools
- secondary schools.
Are you interested? We would be so grateful if you could mark the date in your school calendar - Tuesday 7 May - and register your interest below!
