2019 Offshore Acreage Release - consultation closing soon

Public consultation on areas nominated for the 2019 Offshore Petroleum Acreage release is closing on 31 March 2019.   

The consultation process is an opportunity for you to comment and provide feedback on areas that may potentially be released for oil and gas exploration.

We will consider submissions when determining which areas will be made available for bidding as part of the 2019 acreage release.

Comments can be made on Consultation Hub until 11.59pm, Sunday 31 March 2019.

Information session: transitioning to transparency

NOPSEMA is hosting an information session in conjunction with DIIS on amendments to the Environment Regulations to provide for transparency and a public comment period for exploration environment plans.

The event will provide interested stakeholders with a brief overview of the road to transparency.  We will discuss the regulatory changes, followed by a NOPSEMA showcase of systems and processes developed to implement environmental management transparency of offshore oil and gas activities.

The session is open to the public and industry.  Those wishing to attend should RSVP by Wednesday 20 March, using the Register button on the event page to indicate whether will attend in person or via the live video stream.

When: Wednesday 27 March 2019
Where: Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.  A video streaming service will be available for participants outside of Perth

Opportunity to attend a premier industry event

NOPSEMA, in collaboration with APPEA and the International Offshore Petroleum Environment Regulators' Forum, will host the Source Control Workshop on Monday, May 20 in Perth.

NOPSEMA has published a draft operations risk assessment guidance note for comment.
