24th March 2019

Dear Friend,

Welcome to this week's BPPC eNews.

What We Do at "School"

Some people may be thinking that the "School of Prayer" is a super-spiritual exercise out of reach of "normal" people. Wrong! It's for all of us who want to sit at Jesus' feet and learn to pray. Here are some of the things we do during our 40 minutes together.

  • Worship, thanksgiving, praise to God our Father, Jesus our Lord and The Holy Spirit our Guide.
  • Prayer for our loved ones
  • Prayer for our own personal needs or projects
  • Prayer for each other
  • Prayer for our Pastor, Leaders and Members
  • Prayer for those involved in current, reported disasters or tragedies
  • Prayer for our nation, our statesmen and our missionaries

Take the plunge and join us at 8:30 am or 5:00 pm in the back corner of the Hall. Look forward to seeing you.

Enjoy the eNews and have a great week walking with Jesus,
Pr André & Newsroom Team

Morning Service - 9:30 am

This morning our Assistant, Johann Vorster, will preach from Mk 1:14-15 and Matt 6:9-13 on the theme, "Your Kingdom Come." The Lord Jesus came preaching a message of repentance for the kingdom of God had come. Indeed the glorious kingdom has come, but what does it look like and what does it mean for us? come along Sunday morning to find out!

Evening Service - 6:00 pm

This evening Johann Vorster will preach from 2 Peter 2:18-22 on the theme, "The Danger of Deception." Evil always brings about harm, and there is perhaps no greater evil than being in error about God, and teaching error about God. Such will always lead to evil, or sin, and believers have been called out of such a life. Come, learn the way of righteousness and how to live in it.

Focus on Japan Coming Soon

We look forward to a face-to-face meeting with the Stewart Family. No, they won't be here physically but they will be here virtually - via Skype. We'll see them and chat with the couple and their children about life and ministry in Japan. It's all happening on Saturday 6th April at 6:30 pm, so pop it on your agenda right now, ok? Read more...

How did Paul Pray?

We often consider the Apostle Paul as a model Christian. How did he pray? From Ephesians 1, Ephesians 3 and Colossians 1 we come up with this:

  • Hope and the understanding of God's purpose for your life
  • Knowledge of the amazing plans God has for your eternity
  • Experience and knowledge of God's power within the Believer
  • Personal spiritual strength
  • Jesus living in our hearts by faith
  • Greater comprehension of Jesus' love

This week, let's pray for one another along these lines. And there's more next week.

Pray for the Lost

Keep praying for the "salvation of lost people", specifically two or three you relate with personally, and for those around our church. We are here to be "witnesses unto Him" and if we don't do that then we aren't a church, just a holy club!

30 Days of Prayer for RI in Schools

Some 3,500 volunteers keep Religions Instruction going for about 130,000 children in Qld State Schools under a provision of the Education Act, with some 70% of parents and carers opting for it. This year, with a Principal's permission, brochures about the RI programme may be distributed at his school. Pray for the continuation of RI and for the teachers that lives will be transformed as the Word of God is taught. Read more...

Tomorrow, Saturday 23rd March from 8:00 am everyone with a "heart to work" will put their hands to the tools to put our grounds and buildings in order. There's room for men, women, young and old, so come along with your gardening tools, and ute or trailer to carry stuff to the dump. Many hands make the work light so see you there.

Attention - Camp's Coming!

Youth Camp is almost here again, from Sunday 7th to Friday 12th April. It's for all people of high-school age, from our church or not, so get your registration forms in as soon as possible and spread the word.   Read more...

Scripture Union Easter Camp

Scripture Union camps are amazing from every point of view, and the coming Easter Camp for grades 5 and 6 will be no exception. Take a look at the flyer and encourage young people you know to come along. They'll never forget it. Read more...

Membership discussions

Please contact André if you are interested in BPPC communicant membership. A new series of discussions will begin soonß. These usually happen at 4:00 pm on Sundays but other times can be arranged if it suits better.

Monthly Bulletin Articles

Don't forget that articles for the next monthly news bulletin should be sent to Lauren Crase for setting up. Her email address is lauren.rebecca@live.com.au and she's waiting for you to send your article to bless our congregation.

Cans for Jesus!

Returnable cans and bottles that bear the 10c refund stamp can make money for the spread of the Gospel. Bring those you have and place them between the back of the hall and the container until we have a receptacle for them. We'll let you know how much they are bringing in for Jess and Jako Schwartz's work with Uni students.

Looking for a Home Group?

If you'd like to join a Home Group please check the inside front cover of the monthly newsletter for days, times, places and who to contact or, alternatively, click here. We're working through the "Gospel of John" at the moment. Otherwise,  just talk with Pr André for more information.

Young at Heart

Yes, it's Young at Heart time again, and you won't want to miss the great little movie, "The Woodcarver." We get underway at 9:30 am on Friday 12th April - just a couple of weeks away. But take a look at the trailer below and put it on your agenda. All welcome! Read more...
