A bunch of tales I wanted to share with you

A tale I read

A tale I heard

Tennis player Serena Williams on being scrutinised for her body:

“There was a time when I didn’t feel incredibly comfortable about my body because I felt like I was too strong. I had to take a second and think, ‘Who says I’m too strong? This body has enabled me to be the greatest player that I can be.’

"And now my body is in style, so I’m feeling good about it. [Laughs.] Like, I’m finally in style! It took a while to get there. I’m just really thankful for the way I was brought up by my mom and my dad to give me that confidence. I could have been discouraged, and I wouldn’t be as great as I was because I would have done different exercises or I would have done different things. I totally embrace who I am and what I am.

A tale I wrote

THE ROBOTS ARE COMING!...
TO PLAY CHESS WITH YOUR GRANDDAD.
Hide the board,
squirrel the pieces,
lock your granddad in his home.

THE ROBOTS ARE COMING!...
TO WALK THE DOG WITH YOUR DAD.
Hide the pooch,
squirrel the lead,
lock your dad in his home.

THE ROBOTS ARE COMING!...
TO POT PLANTS WITH YOUR MUM.
Hide the trowel,
squirrel the soil,
lock your mum in her home.

THE ROBOTS ARE COMING!...
TO GO TO THE PARK WITH YOUR NEPHEW.
Hide the Frisbee,
squirrel the squirrels,
lock your nephew in his home.

THE ROBOTS ARE COMING!...
TO DO ALL YOUR DIRTY WORK.
Hide your excuses,
squirrel your chores,
lock isolation in its home
and live.
