From the desk of the President
Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed your break and got some rest! We're staying our outdoor practices this week, so remember that all runs will now be at 5:30pm. Workouts will be at the outdoor track, and since we do not have a locker plan on heading directly to the track. I'll be looking through the schedule to see what st times anyone with run be conflicts can use the track, so let me know if you need any information!
Our first outdoor meet of the year is this Saturday at Muskingum. Sign up here by 11:59pm tonight to compete!

Racing
Long Distance:
Tuesday: 1 x 1600m (5k) + 1-2 x (400m (I), 800m (3k), 800m (3k), 400m (I) ) + 400m (kick); 1:30 standing rec. after each rep, 2:30 active rec. after each set
Thursday: 8-12 x 400m (1600m) w/ 1:00 standing rec. + 2-4 x 200m w/ full rec.
Mid Distance:
Tuesday: 4-5 x (500, 300, 200 on 4:30/3:00/2:00 recovery) 500s @ mile race pace, 300s faster, 200s @ 800 race pace
Thursday: 2x200 @ 800 pace+1x400@mile pace+1x1200 @5k +1x400@mile pace+2x200 @ 800 pace
Sprints:
Tuesday: 100, 200, 300, 400, 300, 200, 100 @ 75%
Thursday: 3 x 200 @ 80%, 3 x 150 @ 85%, 3 x 100 @ 90%
Social
We are planning a self defense workshop, I'll be sending or a poll to see the dates that work best so I can get a room reserved! Be on the lookout for that in the next few days!
Basic information:
- Our club meets at 4:30 PM at the Ohio Union by the D-Tix counter Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for easy runs; 5:30 PM at the RPAC for Sprinter lifts; 7:00 PM at the French Field House on Tuesdays and Thursdays for workouts; and Sundays at 9 AM at the Ohio Union for long runs. Nothing is mandatory, everything is optional!
- We have a Facebook group (linked here), which along with this newsletter and our website is how we pass along information to all of the running club's members. To join this Facebook group simply search "Ohio State Running Club", or click the link above, and make sure you select the group, not the page. Once you request to join, one of our officers with approve you shortly.
