How Is Your Overall Digestive Health?

In Chinese medicine, the Spleen and Stomach control many necessary bodily functions, from clear-thinking to sexual health. A clog in your gastrointestinal tract is bound to have an unpleasant outcome in another part of your life. Conversely, if you see your acupuncturist for sore or achy muscles, bloating, low energy and bad skin, chances are your practitioner may want to gauge your digestive function.

For all of these reasons, it’s best to keep things under control from the start.

These are our four favorite digestive products:
TCM for Colitis, Crohn's, and IBS

Traditional Chinese Medicine is successfully used for treating Crohn's, Colitis, and IBS. These terms are catch-all names for abdominal pain and bowel problems that do not have another explanation. TCM does not use these labels, and instead, looks at what is happening energetically inside each person and treats accordingly.

The following are different patterns for Crohn's, Colitis, and IBS, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine:
  • Alternating Constipation and Diarrhea
  • Diarrhea with undigested food in the Stool
  • Explosive Diarrhea with Pus and Blood
  • Uncontrollable Diarrhea

Try Traditional Chinese medicine for Natural IBS Treatment

Studies suggest that the herbal remedies in traditional Chinese medicine can lead to improvement in IBS symptoms. Since IBS symptoms pertain to excess diarrhea or frequent constipation (and often times a mix of both), it is important to have a customized treatment protocol that can address the root of the issue. This is where Herbal Remedies and Acupuncture can come in to aid your digestion and regulate your bowel movements.

Acupuncture and Herbs Outperform Hormones for Menstrual Irregularity

The results of a new study suggest that a treatment of acupuncture and custom herbs offer significantly greater relief from menstrual irregularity and its associated symptoms when compared with conventional hormonal treatments.

In a study performed at the People’s Hospital of Zhangwu County (Liaoning) a combination of herbs and acupuncture outperformed hormone therapy for a group of 100 women with irregular menstrual cycles.
