- planned to start a series of testimonies by parishioners to publish on the Canterbury website.
- heard a report on the McHugh organ

The next Vestry meeting will be held on Palm Sunday, April 17.
Canterbury Writing Group
The Canterbury Writing Group will meet at noon on Sunday, March 24. Please join us--everyone is welcome! The February Writing-Group free-write was on weather and was followed by a brief discussion of William Greenfield's poem, "Five to Ten." We used the same structure to list a 'weather phenomenon' in terms of other things. For example, it hails like fisted stones. Next we read Pablo Neruda's "Ode to My Socks" and talked about the poem's imagery and straightforward language. We were going to write an ode or a rant about weather, but our energy levels were low and we left that for another day! For more info, contact Chandra Bales: chan.bales@gmail.com
Last chance to join the Canterbury Choir!
Fred Frahm writes: You are invited to join a choir being newly formed at Canterbury. My plan is to add choral music for the season of Easter at the 10 AM Eucharist. This ensemble will rehearse regularly on Wednesday evenings starting 3/27 from 6 to 7:30 PM, and again on Sunday mornings from 9:10 to 9:35 AM. The choir will not be vested and will sit as usual with the congregation until they are called to gather at the appointed place to sing their anthem. Read more about this opportunity here!
Pre-Easter Parish Cleanup
We are scheduling a parish work day on Sat, 4/13, 9am-2pm, with lunch provided. A signup sheet, with a list of tasks, will be posted by Sun, 3/31, and anyone who wishes to take on a particular task at a time of his/her own choosing will be able to do so. Thanks to Bob Moriarty, the building is in good condition, but every household needs a thorough spring cleaning, so let’s make everything shine for the Day of Resurrection!
Diocese awards $5,000 to support Canterbury's participation in Faithworks
Canterbury is part of a coalition of local churches that are teaming up to hire a social worker to support the churches' homeless outreach efforts. Each of the churches has been asked to financially support this ministry. We have just received word that the Diocese will support our participation in the coalition with an award of $5,000 delivered in two installments over the course of the year. Faithworks is now ready to hire their social worker. Read more here.

Advocacy training on refugee resettlement issues set for June 27-28
Registration is now open for “Love God, Love Neighbor: Advocacy in Action,” a two-day interactive training for clergy and laity interested in developing or improving their advocacy skills and having the opportunity to advocate directly to members of Congress and their staff about protections for refugees.
Sponsored by the Office of Government Relations in partnership with Episcopal Migration Ministries, “Love God, Love Neighbor: Advocacy in Action” will be held Thursday-Friday, June 27-28, in Washington, D.C., with the option to attend the One Journey Festival on Saturday, June 29. This day-long festival, held on the grounds of the National Cathedral, celebrates refugee contributions.

Episcopalians, Methodists ponder full-communion proposal after UMC vote
The Episcopal Church and the United Methodist Church have been considering a full-communion agreement between the two churches. After the UMC’s recent decision to reinforce its opposition to same-sex marriage and the ordination of LGBTQ clergy, the two denominations are in a period of prayerful waiting, in anticipation of a denominational ruling on the constitutionality of some parts of the decision. More information available here.
An invitation to ‘Take the Pledge’ and care for God’s creation
Episcopalians and friends concerned about all of God’s creation are invited to join Presiding Bishop Michael Curry in pledging to take action to protect and renew God’s world and all who call it home. The goal is to gather at least 1,000 pledges with concrete, personal commitments by Earth Day, April 22.
