At the Spring Equinox we're recently back from producing the first NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES in New Orleans, our second home and arguably "the most Stevie city in America". Every winter we skip out for a month to absorb the rich creative chi that flows through that city in the buildup to Mardi Gras and to enjoy the great clubs and performers that can still thrive there.
As we waited for Factory folk to arrive from NYC for NOTS NOLA, none were awaited more eagerly than HATTIE HATHAWAY aka BRIAN BUTTERICK. Sadly, our longtime collaborator, friend and inspirator didn't make it, succumbing quite suddenly to lung cancer on January 30. Two months later, the Jackie Factory joins our friends at HOWL! and the NYC refusenik club world to put together her giant sendoff on April Fool's Day.
All the details on CELEBRATING HATTIE follow, and there's more. We proudly announce our full bill for NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES 29: SORCERESS, with five incredible new performers and ten "Returning Legends" - ensembles, bands, burlesque, drag and vocal performers. There is also first news of our NYC PRIDE/ STONEWALL 50 events - and lots more are coming as this epic anniversary dawns. We hope to see you at as many of these as you can - we've missed you, our hometown genius crowd and dear friends.

CELEBRATING HATTIE
MONDAY APRIL 1
6:30 PM DRAG MARCH LEAVES TOMPKINS SQUARE PARK
7 PM LA MAMA BEGINS ON ARRIVAL
Walk with friends, fellow artists, families and others touched by HATTIE HATHAWAY aka BRIAN BUTTERICK, who died suddenly in late January 2019. This public funeral of the beloved gay cultural icon will begin in Tompkins Square Park and continue to LaMama's ELLEN STEWART THEATER.
If you are inclined to join this walking parade and processional please dress for a "Second Line, or Drag March ". Please line up in the middle of Tompkins Square park where you will see and hear a marching band.
Line up starts at 6 PM/ Drag March Parade leaves 6:30 PM
Bring small walking instruments - i.e. wild womyn drums or tambourines or pictures of Hattie.
Destination: LA MAMA (66 East 4th Street, Second Floor) - ELLEN STEWART THEATER
Free and Open to All. You do NOT need to RSVP.
This is a night for memories, performance and dancing: JOHNNY DYNELL will spin the Hattie-centric soundtrack along with remembrances, video, performances and other tributes. Video curator is ALDO HERNANDEZ. Space is limited but we are trying to include as many participants as possible. NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES - the largest and most beloved STEVIE NICKS fan event in the world - returns for its tarot-drenched 2019 edition May 4 at IRVING PLAZA, NYC. For the 29th annual edition - SORECERESS - producers promise an exploration of Stevie Nicks and her songs through tarot card archetypes and SORCERESS Attitude.
Our Enchanted roster of performers, ensembles and bands is now complete. Returning Legends of Stevie Realness are AMBER MARTIN with LANCE HORNE, IT WAS ROMANCE, XAVIER, MACHINE DAZZLE, DESERT SIN, KAREN AND THE SORROWS, DIVINE GRACE (Orlando), THE RACHEL KLEIN THEATRE, GOLDIE LOXX + ONA LOUISE and LADY ZOMBIE. Our brilliant DJ/VJ team is once again DJ SAMMY JO and DJ TRAVIS ISLAND/VJ TRE (D.C.) and the "Enchantresses of Ceremony" will include EMPRESS CHI CHI VALENTI with PAUL ALEXANDER (JACKIE 60 MCs) and EDITRIX ABBY.
After a two-month review process, the five NOTS 29 debut performers have been selected: Alternative cabaret star CAROL LIPNIK, Violin Sorceress EMILY ONDRACEK-PETERSON (Denver), burlesque and "KINK HAUS" Artiste GOLDI FOX (Philadelphia), Club Cumming diva DAPHNE ALWAYS and our first Wyoming-based performer - vocalist DEANNA LARSEN (Cheyenne).
