Discover Slash Careers!

Dear Readers,

Having various jobs simultaneously is the up-in-coming trend in Switzerland. Slash careers (dual or multiple careers) was recently studied by the Swiss Federal Office for Statistics (FSO). 7.6 % of the active population are holding more than one part-time job. In the past 25 years, this amount has drastically increased and notably women and men with a high level of education are more and more inclined to work as a slasher. Job sharing and slash careers are directly connected: job and top sharing could be a way of exploring slash careers and more interesting part-time positions while keeping the security of being a salaried employee, see FSO Report.

Join us at our next Job Sharing Meet-up in Lausanne

To discover more about the interesting opportunities presented through job and top sharing, we invite you to our next JOBSHARING MEET-UP in Lausanne on April 29th at Espace Dickens. Potential job and top sharers, HR specialists, recruiters are encouraged to attend this event in order to get more acquainted with this innovative work model.  A special matchmaking event will allow job sharrers to find a potential partner. Several interactive roundtables will take place, see info and subscription meet-up, don’t forget to subscribe. Top sharing more productive?

Recently, job and top sharing models were again important topics in several newspaper articles. The models prove collaborating together at a management level can be more productive, see article top sharing at the cantonal administration.

Job sharing still remains an efficient team-oriented model allowing a career while working part-time. One third (36.7%) of the active Swiss population work part-time. The last statistics from FSO show that there are currently 59% of women working part-time in comparison to 18% for men. The remain reasons are still the same: women are mostly working part-time to care for their families (children and older relatives), men are working part-time most frequently for educational reasons. The gender gap remains high and working in a job and top sharing model can help our society to change that trend, see SFO Survey Part-time

Please contact us if you need advice and help to promote the implementation of this model on a wider scale, see our services (conferences, workshops and coaching) and contact us at:  info@go-for-jobsharing.ch
