Last Days for 'Post Leisure' by DAN MCCABE

 
Post Leisure by Dan McCabe closes on Wednesday 27th, Post Leisure has been widely appreciated by the growing number of followers of Dan's practice and introduced many more to his considered and finely honed art. In parallel with his exhibItion at MOORE CONTEMPORARY, Dan is presenting a second solo exhibition 'Post Leisure' at Outer Space in Brisbane, closing at the end of March.

Save the Date!  Welcome Soon to MARITA FRASER
 
 
Marita Fraser arrives from London to present her solo exhibition at MOORE CONTEMPORARY with a special preview and performance on the evening of the 11th April. 

The exhibition combines installation, painting, textile and video recognising the breadth of Marita's practice. Marita Fraser has an extensive exhibition history across Australia, UK, Spain, Austria and the Netherlands, and this will be her first solo presentation in Perth. More information on this project will be announced soon.

Other Artist News
 
The launch of The National exhibition and events across the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Museum of Contemporary Art and Carriageworks in Sydney from 29th March will see the unveiling of a major new installation by Abdul-Rahman Abdullah entitled Pretty Beach, 2019. This work features at the MCA while Pilar Mata-Dupont's expansive video Shuffle is being exhibited at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. MOORE CONTEMPORARY will present an exhibition with Pilar Mata-Dupont late in 2019.
 

Notable Acquisitions
 
It is a pleasure to announce that Newcastle Art Gallery has acquired The Men Who Sold Lies I by Abdul-Rahman Abdullah, following on from their inspired The 1818 Project exhibition, curated by Sarah Johnson. This exhibition which marked the 200 year anniversary of the creation of three colonial paintings by Joseph Lycett in the Newcastle Art Gallery holdings. Select contemporary artists were invited to respond to the Lycett works thereby creating a rich and interrogative perspective on Australian history and its present. 

Featured in a new hang of the Wesfarmers Arts collection in their Perth offices is the recently acquired and newly framed work by Kate McMillan, Instructions for Another Future VI 2018, digital prints on silk chiffon, silk velvet, hagstone, bronze pebble and bronze loops.
