17 March 2019 Annual Greeting
Lá Fhéile Pádraig Shona daoibh - Happy St. Patrick’s Day
Announcing the 2019 Nolan Clan Gathering
We are happy to announce that the 2019 Annual General Meeting has been scheduled! -14 September 2019 at the
Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow, Ireland.  We will visit sites of interest in the area; share tales of the Clan and have a wonderful dinner in the hotel's banquet rooms.
Late summer in Ireland is chock full of exciting events.

Ireland's national sporting championship matches will be played in late August and early September. The All-Ireland Hurling Final is Sunday August 18th. The Irish Football Final is Sunday September 1st. The County Carlow Gold Classic is September 2nd thru 4th. The Rugby World Cup commences on Friday September 20th. Ireland's first game in Pool A, is on Sunday September 22nd. The country will come to a standstill and all the pubs will be crowded around their televisions. We know that Adam Nolan, our 2017 Nolan Clan honoree, could be in the stands if not on the field!

The 2019 National Ploughing Championships will be held from September 17th thru the 19th in County Carlow near The Fighting Cocks and Ballon. This very important national agricultural event was hosted by honoree Kevin Nolan on nearby Nolan Farming. Over 240,000 people attended last year!

The Nolan Clan's third 2017 honoree, Naomi O'Nolan, curator for Limerick's wonderful Hunt Museum will be getting the autumn exhibition in October ready but the summer exhibit celebrating Irish painters "Lavery and Osborne" will still be on view until 30 September.

These events and more will make your visit home to Ireland for the 2019 Nolan Clan Gathering a fantastic adventure. We hope to see you in Carlow!
Some of the activities we are pursuing to include in and around this years Gathering are:
A presentation at the National Library of Ireland's Genealogy Advisory Services in Dublin
A presentation of the resources and services offered by the Carlow Genealogy Archives
A curated tour of the Carlow County Museum
A canal boat cruise on the Barrow River
A Walking Tour of Galway with Brian Nolan
A tour of Walsh Whiskey in Carlow, one of the leaders in the Irish whiskey renaissance.

Can you suggest other points of interest, events or business? LET US KNOW.
