Welcome to the March edition of the Canadian Shooting Federation Newsletter. Students across the country have had a busy month. Events of all types have taken place, including a Valentines Day shoot for couples put on by the U of C Firearms Association (top). Carleton University put on a Trap shoot to introduce new shooters to shotgun sports (bottom left). Good on em for braving that Ottawa chilly weather! Lastly UBC was spotted putting some lead down range during the cold too (bottom right).
We are also happy to announce the official formation of two new clubs on opposite sides of the country! Many in the firearms community tend to think that Universities and the affiliated Student Associations are not supportive of shooting sports. However we would like to recognize and thank the administrations, who have been very supportive of our efforts to integrate our teams into their on-campus communities.
Drum roll please....
First off in BC! University of Victoria Shooting Sports formed early February and is up and running! They will hopefully be having their first event in the near future. This will make for a great local rivalry with the guys out across the water at UBC.
And introducing our newest team out East, the Western Firearms Association at the University of Western Ontario. They informed me of their official ratification while writing the final draft of this newsletter. These guys are so fresh that you can still smell the gunpowder.
