Cultivating Transformational Leaders                     Equipping Christ’s followers to go into the neighborhood

2019 Triennium

What is Triennium? Triennium is gathering of Presbyterian youth that happens every 3rd summer. This opportunity is open to youth going in to 9th grade through graduated senior. Triennium takes place at Purdue University in West Layette, Indiana on July 16-20, 2019. The theme for this Triennium is “Here’s my Heart.”

The first Triennium was held in 1980. The driving purpose behind the conception of Triennium has three parts;

  1. To enable Presbyterian youth in North America to address the prophetic and crucial dilemmas of our world and embark on a journey toward global unity.
  2. To enable Presbyterian youth to rediscover their Christian and Presbyterian roots, to nourish personal faith, and to develop leadership through worship, theological reflection, study and devotion.
  3. To enable Presbyterian youth to participate in setting the directions for the youth ministry programming of their own Presbyterian denomination.

Triennium has expanded to reached over 5,000 youth participates from all over the world bringing them together to worship and interact. Past participants claim that it is a spiritual opportunity that they never regret.

There is something amazing about being surrounded by over 5,000 people worshiping, singing, and taking communion together as one in Christ.

The Wyoming delegation will gather in Denver on July 15 for a night of fun and fellowship. Then the next day we will travel to Purdue for 5 days of worship and spiritual growth. The cost will be around $1,000. This includes travel expenses, food, and lodging. The Presbytery of Wyoming has funds set aside to assist with the cost. If you know a current 8th-12th grader that would be interested in attending please contact me at cjclem@actaccess to register them for this experience.

Big Tent

Big Tent
The theme – based on Romans 12:2, chosen by our Stated Clerk, Reverend Dr. J Herbert Nelson II, Called to a Movement beyond Institution, will emphasize our hope of the Gospel and its power to challenge institutional conventions. The goal is to come together and live in this moment, immersed in our current cultural context of racial division, gender inequality, and economic disparity to be renewed, refreshed and reformed, so that we may be sent out to affect change in our own communities. Big Tent will provide a place where our Presbyterian polity and identity is the foothold by which we proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in action and answer the call to discern the will of God together.

Based at two downtown hotels, the Radisson and Lord Baltimore, the event will be accessible and affordable – making it possible for more Presbyterians to come together for a time of learning, engaging, and fellowship.

Technology Grant

Does your church need/desire to update its technology• purchase a new computer, install new sound equipment, etc.? The Presbytery is providing $3000 matching Technology Grants from the Futuring the Faith Funds. All you need to do is to send an estimate of the cost along with some receipt showing that you have raised 50% of the amount and the Council will receive and evaluate your request! Funds are available!

Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole

An event sponsored by The Evangelism and Redevelopment/Leadership Team of the Presbytery and the Presbytery of Yellowstone! It is being funded by both Presbyteries and by the Synod of the Rocky Mountains!

We need to try to live every day, loving God and loving the neighbor in concrete ways, not only by our words but by our actions. We must look for ways to be better Christians, citizens, and neighbors, to effect change and make a difference.”

There will be worship and breakout sessions focusing on engaging our neighbors.

The cost will be low and housing will probably be paid for!

Creative Worship Conference

Make Worship More Creative!

We live in a culture obsessed with image and screens. From the smartphones and tablet devices we carry everywhere we go, to the large screens in our living rooms; the world around us has shifted to a communication form that the church is still struggling to fully understand.

Regardless of worship style, it’s imperative that the church learn to embrace and master the use of image and creativity in the way we communicate the gospel in worship.

Spend the day with creative worship specialist, author and worship coach Jason Moore in an event designed for churches of all sizes, budgets and means. Whether your church has screens in worship, you are thinking about it, or have decided against them, this seminar has something for you. Best experienced as a team, The Creative Worship Conference is filled with ideas that any church (large and small) can implement. Learn time-tested methodologies that transcend the traditional vs. contemporary wars and that will result in a more connected worship experience. Laugh, be inspired and walk away with clearly defined next steps for improved worship.

Deep, meaningful, transformative worship is within your grasp. Register today!
