Dear Friends,

This week’s Varsity Blues scandal has become a news phenomenon and though I find myself insatiably reading about it, it consumes me with an overwhelming sense of sadness; Sadness for the worthy kids who lost spots to this corruption, sadness for the kids whose parents didn’t allow themselves to earn their own spots in college and sadness for the parents who let their obsession with their kids’ futures lead to terrible judgment and alleged criminal activity. Here is one perspective I found extremely refreshing in the wake of it all.
