Last Weekend at GHC

 
It was another winning Saturday last weekend as our Senior teams won or drew 9 of their 11 league games. The Ladies were undefeated with wins for the 2, 3, 4 and 5s and a draw for the 1s.

The M1s dug deep to overcome a draw by scoring two goals in the last five minutes to bring home another three points.

And well done to the Men's 2s who netted 6 against Kenley to move further ahead of Wanderer's on goal difference, a whopping +41.

The Under 16 Girls came second in their EH Cup Area T1 Finals behind Spencer who didn't let in a goal all day.

In the Boys' Pool Fareham came top; despite our Boys creating many chances they didn't manage to get through some strong defending and keeping on the day. Well done to both BU16 and GU16 to have made it to Area Finals - we will redouble efforts for a run to Nationals next season.

There were plenty of other Junior events happening as well - GHC's biggest ever hosting day with 27 home matches! Well done to the Girls Under 14 Prem team who won 5-0.

And the Girls Under 10s played in a very competitive Surrey Plate event making it to the Quarterfinals.
 

The Under 8s hosted a 7-a-side festival at Broadwater - we hope they all enjoyed it and stick with hockey at GHC:

This Weekend at GHC

 

We have another 11 Senior matches on Saturday including the Men's 1s' penultimate league match in South Prem 2 at home:

13:30 M1s v Tulse Hill and Dulwich

Clubhouse and bar open - Come and support!

Other home matches include the Ladies 2s and 4s and the Men's Shadows and 4s.

The Ladies 2s have two matches left this season and both are the teams just ahead of them in the table in a tight race for 2nd place. Best of luck Ladies!!

Sunday sees a mix of Junior matches, both league and friendly. And the Ladies 1s taking on Sonning in the next round of the EH Cup Tier 2 competition.

This evening in the GHC Clubhouse St Bert's Clothing will be selling their cool range of kids clothing, for 4-12 year olds from 6pm and 8pm.  

If you are not familiar with St Bert's, they sell comfortable clothing for kids from sweatshirts and hoodies to T-shirts and tracksuit bottoms. It is well made, hard wearing at the same time as being retro in design and comfortable.

GHC Way Forward and Planning for 2019/20 -
Annual General Meeting 2019


The Board have been working hard with input from across the club on updating the 3-5 year plan for the Club moving forward.

A 'stakeholders' meeting was held in January to gain support for the way forward proposal.

There was very positive support for the proposal, and the Board are further planning for next season and beyond.

There will be some exciting news about next season coming soon. If you would like to see the presentation please ask your Captain or Squad Manager (all have received a copy) or email intouch@guildfordhc.com

Please consider taking on even a really small job to help out - if you aren't already. Many hands make light (and more fun) work. Get in touch with your Captain or Squad Manager or any of our Contacts in Who's Who
