EVENTS BY TOPIC
*Each week I star the subcalendars that a lot of folks probably would want. The more stars, the more there is of interest to more Rhode Islanders. For instance, some weeks there are no films or conferences, but right now there are some films to see and several conferences with open registration. As Earth Day approaches, the Cleanups calendar will have lots of stars!
You can also go straight to the whole Calendar, see Featured Events, and Recent Additions.

The Ongoing Calendar ...
... lists events that are months-long or many consecutive days or occurring frequently in irregular patterns. They would overwhelm the main calendar, so they are separate.

Did You Know?
Many of the hearings and other public meetings are recorded - either in audio or video. If we are concerned about an issue or how our tax dollars are spent, it's important for more of us to watch what our public officials are doing.

Add More Events!
Every worthwhile event is not in this Calendar (yet!) Any event about the environment of interest to Rhode Islanders can be in What Grows On in RI. See the Scoop on the Scope for guidelines.

Citizens, Let Your Voice Be Heard!
The Hearings Calendar lists a wide range of ways to influence legislation, regulation, and other government activity in Rhode Island. At the moment, here are some options:
- RI General Assembly committees are holding hearings frequently through early June. Environment-related hearings are in the Calendar.
- Three Providence Water Supply Community Meetings in March. Sixty percent of Rhode Islanders get their water from the Scituate Reservoir. Hear about the legislation submitted this week in the General Assembly concerning future plans to monetize this resource.
- ****new! PVD Great Streets Public Meetings
- DEM has developed a public survey to gauge current and future demand for recreational needs
