Many Service Opportunities are still open to assist with Decorations, Check-In/Greeters, Dinner Ticket / Mega Raffle Sales, Coffee Service, Raffle Table Prizes and our Membership table. No experience required, our past volunteers are excited to share this rewarding planning experience with new comers AND old timers.

A note from my highchair... Recovery is in the air and it smells like Alano Club coffee.
There are two things alcoholics hate; the way things are, and change. Well get ready for some late night changes at EAC... The NiteCap group has made a decision to call it quits in April after seeing attendance decline in the past few months. Beginning April 6, there will be a single late night meeting under a new name on Saturday evenings only. Insomniacs, don’t fret! There is talk of another midweek late night meeting starting in May. For the rest of this month (March) the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday Nitecap meetings will continue meet at 10pm.
#TheTakeAway When a group takes on multiple meetings to chair within a week, there needs to be a core membership that is willing to step up and make sure that thing run smoothly. As people fail to live up to their commitments to show-up and open the door, it doesn’t take long for attendance to fail. Word gets out and it hurts the reputation of that meeting and the Club.
#RoomtoGrow When we take on responsibility in sobriety, people count on us to deliver. When we make commitments to our groups, people count on us to follow thru. As my sponsor told me, “We are judged by our actions, not our intentions.” Don’t step up unless you are willing to follow up. When faced with a situation that is new to us or seems overwhelming, do not be afraid to let someone know that you need help. Those three words are so hard to say; “I need help.”
#ChopWoodCarryWater It has been my experience that when starting a new meeting, at least one person must make the commitment to that meeting for one year. That should be enough time to know if that group will succeed or fail. I have seen results both ways. If the group has the right attraction, members will step up and it will grow. If not, you know that you tried and you practiced the principles.
If you are interested in helping a group and don’t know how, I’ll let you in on a secret... GSO has a book called the AA Service Manual that has all the information you need. Chapter 2, The AA Group and its GSR is a good place to start. If you want a copy let me know. I know where they are hiding.
