Impacted By Floodwaters?
Please see the resources available below: |

March has been a month of madness, but not the "fun" madness that most people think of. For those in the agricultural world, March has produced widespread weather disasters that will have far-reaching and long-lasting impacts. It seems that very few states have been spared the misery.
This link has information for Nebraska, but it's relevant to any state with regard to USDA and FSA information that can be found in the sidebar of the article. The NBA will continue to research assistance programs and share that information with our producers. Please feel free to share the links with others who may be in need of the information. If you have other information or links, please pass along so we can share with everyone. Click here to learn more.
Here are some additional resources for those affected by Winter Storm Ulmer. A lot of this is again specific to Nebraska, but again, many of the FSA resources will apply to any producer. Click here to learn more.
And for those not being affected who are looking to support rescue and relief efforts, particularly with hay donations, please click here to learn more about how you can help.
Finally, if you've been personally affected by the flooding, please notify the NBA so we can do all we can to support our impacted members. |

BOZEMAN, Mont. 03/28/19 (AP) — More than 300 bison have been culled from Yellowstone National Park during the current effort to keep the park's herd at a manageable level.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports that the number removed so far was as of last Friday either by hunting or by capture-for-slaughter operations, which were still occurring this week.
The National Park Service reports that as of last Friday hunters licensed through seven tribal nations have taken 96 bison.
The park's Stephens Creek Capture Facility had trapped and consigned 208 bison to slaughter. One bison died in the facility.
Results on brucellosis tests on the bison are pending.
Park officials planned to remove 600 to 900 bison. About 4,500 bison were counted last summer in Yellowstone.

If you did not receive the survey, please request one by contacting jim@bisoncentral.comand be sure to complete by the deadline of Wednesday, March 13th.
According to many bison processors, heavier carcass weights over the past two years have played a significant factor in the reduction of actual animals processed.
