The Joy of Success

Today she is a joyful and confident woman. At a very young age, Joy realized her career dream. But the journey was long and arduous.  She tells part of her story:

“When I lost my parents at the age of 6, life was never the same again. I and my two brothers were left under our grandparent’s care. We faced a myriad of challenges before my uncle introduced our plight to one of Tumaini’s field volunteer. I was then sponsored at the age of 9 in 2005 and the time I was in grade 5. The sponsorship lifted my spirit tremendously. …..In 2010 I was enrolled in a great girl’s school and in all the four years during high school, Tumaini provided everything I needed for academics and also basic needs.”

Joy performed very well in high school and was given admission at Technical University of Mombasa (Tum) for a 4-year course in Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Technology & Quality Assurance. She completed her program in December 2018 and graduated with the highest academic achievement, First Class Honors! Needless to say, Joy is a very bright young woman.
In February, Joy got a job with Coca-Cola as a Quality Controller. She had this to say about her journey so far:

"I believe that if you keep your faith, you keep your trust and you keep the right attitude, if you are grateful, you will see God open up new doors. I have special gratitude to my sponsors Daniel & Jill B. Thank you for your unconditional love and your generosity. May God increase and bless you abundantly. Thank you God, thank you Tumaini for making my star shine. Thank you for your amazing partnership in bringing hope to thousands of kids who otherwise had no hope.  God bless you all!”

A woman of deep faith in God, Joy has some achievable dreams. She is keen on pursuing graduate studies in Quality Assurance. Long term she desires to serve the poor and fight for their rights, championing peace and justice in her little corner of the world. Joy is a focused and determined young woman and we can’t wait to see what God does with the rest of her life.

Thank you all for empowering one more vulnerable young person who is now determined to do the same for others. Through your prayers and financial giving, you are truly enabling us to bring hope where there is no hope.

If you would like to sponsor an orphan or vulnerable child and create other joyful stories like Joy’s, please go online or call us and give a child hope today.
