Welcome to the first Spatial Thoughts newsletter

March was a busy month with the highlight being the QGIS International User Conference at A Coruna, Spain. I got a chance to attend and meet the community in-person. See my blog post with links to resources.

Tips and Tricks

Here are some QGIS Tips & Tricks
  1. Atlas Pro Tip: If you want to render all features in your layer, but label only the ones that are within the current Atlas coverage feature, you can use 'Rule-based labeling' with a rule such as 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛($𝑔𝑒𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑡𝑟𝑦, @𝑎𝑡𝑙𝑎𝑠_𝑔𝑒𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑡𝑟𝑦 )
  2. Digitizing Pro Tip: The 'Digitizing Tools' plugin add a toolbar with some helper tools that are a must if you do a lot of digitizing. I love the 'Fill gaps with a new feature' tool that automagically creates a feature with just one click
