Second Robert Street Field Consultation Tues., April 2

You have another chance to voice your ideas about the design for the community area at the southern end of the Robert Street field. A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 2 from 6-7 pm at St. Thomas Church Parish Hall (383 Huron Street). The most popular guiding concepts voiced from those attending the first public consultation, were "green" and "a space for all ages". Attendees endorsed a variety of active and passive uses, with no clear favourites, but including sports facilities, children's playground, gardens and dog park. Come and make your opinions known! One further meeting will be held at St. Thomas Church at 6 pm on May 7th.

The Parkettes Are Coming! The Parkettes Are Coming!

How wonderful to see one of those big signs go up and it not be a notice that yet another condo tower was coming. In case you haven’t been up to Bloor lately, each of the corners designated for a green parkette — Robert, Major, Brunswick and Howland — now has a big sign with pictures and descriptions to get us all dreaming. Goodbye concrete hello green!

PSST — Is It Time To Renew Your HVRA Membership?

Now that light has returned and you can leave the house without boots, it may be time to pull yourself away from binge watching Netflix and do all those things you have ignored over winter. As your spring cleaning of dreaded paperwork commences, give yourself some instant gratification and go on-line and renew your HVRA membership. Think how good you’ll feel crossing at least that one thing off your list.

Adios Farewell Good-bye Adieu Everyone!

As some of you know, I moved out of HV last June but have continued to write the eblast — mainly because I’ve enjoyed bringing neighbourhood happenings to life in these weekly writings and because Margaret and Merrill made me do it (just joking). But it’s time to move on. So, my friends, this is my last eblast. It’s time for me to get more involved in my new community and venture forth into other kinds of writing that I’ve been wanting to do. Harbord Village will always have a chunk of my heart. I’m down that way a lot, so do say hey when you see me. You can get in touch with me here. Oh, needless to say, the Excellent Cat Sitter still comes to HV!
