Save the Date! - Library Giving Day – Wednesday, April 10th

This is the time of year that we usually reach out to supporters about Valley Gives Day, an online giving event organized by the Community Foundation of Western Mass. Valley Gives, however, has redirected their energies and is no longer running the one-day donation marathon. While disappointed, we are buoyed by the culture of philanthropy toward the library that has grown within the town.

Luckily, the Seattle Public Library Foundation has stepped in to fill the void with a national giving day just for libraries! Library Giving Day, Wednesday, April 10th, is our newest opportunity to save for a future new library--a place for our community to learn, grow, and thrive.

We are thrilled to share that a team of ambitious library supporters have joined to help our Library Giving Day be successful. If we raise $5,000 in donations on or before April 10th, they will match it dollar for dollar!

Stay tuned! As we get closer to April 10th, we will sharing more about how you can support this effort to raise funds for a new Shutesbury Library.

Spring Spruce-ups – Annual Fundraiser for a new library.

Hire a team of four adults who will do one hour of spring clean-up work in your yard for a $100 donation to the Friends of the Library New Library Fund. We are booking jobs on Monday, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays beginning April 12th.

To hire a team or to volunteer, contact Susie, sndmoes@verizon.net or 259-1550 or see Mary Anne at the Library.

Software upgrade – Library hours adjusted – Mark your calendar

CWMARS will be installing a software upgrade on Sunday, April 14th through Monday, April 15th.

Evergreen, the integrated library software, will go down Sunday evening.

To accommodate this upgrade, the Library will close at 5 pm on Sunday, April 14th.

And to avoid a reduction in service, the Library will open an hour early, at 2 pm.
