Last Chance: Carlos Cruz-Diez at the Cistern closes April 7!
Spatial Chromointerference will close this Sunday, April 7, so don’t miss your opportunity to see the #CisterninColor! Famed Franco-Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez (b. 1923, Caracas) created this site-specific environment with a complex projection of continuously moving chromatic modules on the Cistern’s 221 columns, walls and cubes floating in the shallow pool of water on the reservoir’s floor. View this historic site like never before, as color becomes more than a visual object but a dazzling space to be experienced.

Public Art Along Buffalo Bayou
The collaborative public art installation New Monuments for New Cities is on view in Buffalo Bayou Park until April 30. Displayed in beautiful light boxes are posters from 25 North American artists and artist groups, including five from Houston, responding to the evolving nature of monuments.
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts (part of the University of Houston Katherine G. McGovern College of the Arts) presents CounterCurrent from April 9-14, a free festival of live performances, installation and ideas. We are thrilled that two of the installations will take place along Buffalo Bayou's waterfront at Tony Marron Park and Allen's Landing!
Check out the BioArt Bayou-torium, created by artist Henry G. Sanchez, a science lab and art studio that will be on the banks of Buffalo Bayou across from Tony Marron Park beginning April 13.
This socially engaged, bio-art based project invites the general public to make art by investigating nature with the aid of science tools and provides bilingual pontoon boat tours of the wildlife and history of the bayou.
