A Better PLC
CITY's model of Professional Learning Community trains participants to reflect on their teaching, look closely at student work, share dilemmas of practice, read and discuss professional articles, and serve as supportive friends in providing feedback that improves professional practice and student achievement.

Educators from throughout Southern Arizona will convene in Tucson, Arizona for The Social and Emotional Learning Summer Institute presented by CITY Center for Collaborative Learning. Participants will select from sessions from four domains:

  • Principles of Social and Emotional Learning
  • Positive Behavior Intervention and Support
  • Trauma Informed Practice
  • Teaching for Social Justice

Where does food come from? What happens to garbage when I throw it away? Could an apple core or a banana peel help something else grow?

Come learn the science of composting and build your own classroom composting bin! Come visit Las Milpitas and take a tour with Frank DiPietraPaul from CITY Center for Collaborative Learning’s Farm to School Program. Then, learn what happens to the things we compost, and discover how to observe both visible and invisible changes over time through hands-on, minds-on learning.
