In this article, we'll share the story of our talented intern's development of a 1/7-scale autonomous race car using a NetBurner microcontroller, sensors, and a basic chassis.
Part story, part tutorial, you'll read how he overcame challenges faced by interfacing low-level hardware, dynamically mapping the car’s environment, and visualizing the results. It culminates by presenting a novel algorithm, dubbed “Circles of Concern”, that minimizes computation for high-speed object-avoidance and navigation.
