I love the smiles on the faces of these children from Onamuna Village in the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. These people speak the Gadsup language, which doesn't yet have a Bible translation that is good enough to publish online because the translators aren't finished, yet. They do, however have mobile phone and Internet access available to them, now, so when their translation is finished, I'm ready to transmit it to them. In the mean time, I publish the Bible translations I'm given. (I have 4 other translations in my work queue to process, right now, but I don't have pictures from those tribes to show you.) Papua New Guinea has over 850 languages spoken, 252 of which we have posted Bible translations online at PNG.Bible. What do I do? I keep Bible translations flowing from Bible translators to the people who read and listen to them, as well as to people who also help deliver those Bible translations where they do the most good. I transform Bible formats from whatever the Bible translators give me to formats that work well on web sites, e-readers, Bible study apps, and print. That involves some linguistics, a lot of computer science, a lot of sitting in front of my computer, a lot of processing Bible translations for new posting or updates, a little travel to meet with Bible translators, and Bible translation agencies. This work also requires prayer and financial support from our awesome partners, mainly because we focus on the people groups least able to pay for access to the Holy Bible, and because there is much spiritual warfare involved in reaching so many people with God's Word.
