INN MEMBERS CAN REGISTER FOR INN DAYS 2019
INN members can register now for INN Days 2019, INN's biggest event of the year, at The Four Seasons Houston on June 12 and 13 for $119, a $30 savings off regular registration pricing. Registration prices will increase to $149 after April 22.
INN Days will be held at its own hotel for the first time at The Four Seasons Hotel, two blocks from the IRE hotel, at a special room rate at $175 per night, which is less than the IRE hotel and surrounding hotels. Book your hotel room now by visiting the "hotel" tab on the INN Days page — accommodations will fill up quickly. Travel stipends are also available for INN members in good standing. Apply here.
INN Days 2019 will including NewsMatch Day sponsored by Knight Foundation, INN's 10th Anniversary reception, plus peer group meetups and other networking opportunities. This year's conference features sessions with Amy Martin, founder and executive producer of Threshold, Rachel Sadon, editor-in-chief of WAMU, Steve Sapienza, senior producer at the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, Noreen Gillespie, deputy sports editor at the Associated Press and more.
CONNECT YOUR NONPROFIT NEWS ORGANIZATION TO COLUMBIA J-SCHOOL GRADS
INN will be participating in the Columbia Journalism School's annual Career Expo, the largest journalism job fair in the US, this Saturday to promote careers in the nonprofit news sector and the career development and leadership programs it's teeing up to build for the future. This will also be an opportunity for INN members, even if they can't be there recruiting, to put job openings in front of soon-to-be graduating Columbia J-school graduate students. INN representatives will be referring students to INN's job board, so if you have openings for full or part-time roles, freelancers, or internships and fellowships, post them to the job board by Friday.
INN LABS WELCOMES PROJECT MANAGER MIRANDA KRAPF
Miranda Krapf has joined INN Labs as a project manager, responsible for client-facing communications, management of project scopes, timelines, and successful deliveries. INN TRAINING SERIES: MASTERFUL MANAGEMENT
INN's online training series geared toward helping nonprofit news executives overcome management struggles will continue April 2 and April 16 with sessions about managing for motivation and mentoring. The series is led by Madhu Maron, the founder of MadhuCoach, a coaching and consulting practice dedicated to supporting individuals and organizational leaders on the path to transformation. Prior to becoming a coach, Maron spent 17 years as a human resources professional, working with The Associated Press, Standard & Poor's, Henry Ford Health System (Detroit), the New York City Economic Development Corporation and other organizations.
