Transforming communities by enabling them to amplify their voices
Jambo from everyone at Mojatu Foundation!

Over the past few months, we have been very busy. In February, we celebrated the International Day of Zero Tolerance to FGM by planting trees at FarmEco Community Care Farm. We held a conference to discuss how we can move forwards and support more women and girls affected by FGM. Our English and Driving Theory classes have been continuing, and we look forward to hearing from more students who have gone on to pass their driving tests and gain more independence.

At FMB radio, we're continuing to work with more community groups to share their authentic stories and creating cool new podcasts and music with the help of our friends. In March, we celebrated International Women's Day by launching our latest programme, to support a school in Kenya.

#TreesAgainstFGM
Thank you to everyone who attended our #TreesAgainstFGM event at FarmEco. The day was a huge success: we celebrated the International Day of Zero Tolerance to FGM, and came together to discuss the key issues affecting communities.
Sign Our Pledge
Launched at our second FGM conference, we have had a phenomenal response to our Eradicate FGM pledge so far including Paddy Tipping, the Police and Crime Commissioner, as well as community faith leaders and safeguarding professionals. We hope to use this pledge to work together and create a stronger global movement, ensuring that we end FGM in a generation.

We have a variety of family learning courses, from keeping safe online, to healthy living and money management. If you're interested in joining one of these classes, please get in touch with laura@mojatu.com!

We'd like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Mandy, Beth, Rastarella and the whole team who threw an amazing International Women's Day event with the funds raised going to support a school in Narok County, Kenya.

The gig was raising vital funds to help educate and empower girls from Maasai communities in rural Kenya where FGM and child marriage and teenage pregnancy are common practices. We want to help support girls gain access to education. The funds raised will go directly to a girls school in Eor-enkitolk in Kenya where Mojatu Foundation co-founder Valentine Nkoyo is from.

Thank you to all of the performers and everyone who came along to support an incredible night of music and fun. If you couldn't attend the event, it's not too late to donate to our project. Click here to support our work in Kenya.

The good news it that we will be running more events, and partnering with more talented artists across the city over the coming months, with all of the proceeds going towards our work in Kenya. If you are interested in joining our fundraising events team, get in touch with laura@mojatu.com.
