Devotional Corner:

John 3:16-17 New International Version (NIV)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

This month each of our speakers have been talking about their personal walks with the Lord. Each of us answers the questions of How, When, and Why I became a Christian slightly different, though each of our stories share one key component and that is Jesus. Jesus transforms all of us. Whether we are introduce to him by our parents, our friends, a loving member of our community, or even an angel Jesus calls us into a deep personal relationship with him. A relationship filled with love, compassion and goodness. As a Child who grew up with parents that believed in Jesus, I was introduced to him early on. I learn about his love for his friends the disciples, his love for his community and his infinite love for all humanity. Its impossible to speak of Jesus's love for us without talking about Calvary. Jesus didn't just want everyone to live here on this earth for a finite number of days. He didn't just want us to receive only one hug or kiss from him, he wanted to be there always and forever. When we as humanity sinned in the Garden and afterwards, we rejected his love for us. If Jesus was like any other human being he might have left us in that state to die for that rejection. Thankfully though our Lord and Savior didn't he chose to keep on loving us and even chasing us when we ran from him. He ultimately showed the true meaning of love as he died on the Cross for  our sins. The penalty that was meant for us, he took because he loved us, he wants to be with us and care about all the little problems we have. My question for you is as he reaches out his hand to you, will you reach out to him? I pray each and every day I do.

Sermon Description:

It is easy to become a Muslim.  You only have to say just one sentence out loud.  So what is required to become a Christian. Is there a Billy Graham formula that is needed?  Can you identify the time and place where it happened?  Ever wondered if you were less of a Christian if you didn't know when you became one?  Some of my friends maintain that you need only accept Christ once in your life, and that action means you are saved forever.  Others tell me that they become new Christians every day.  Let's find out what your Bible says.
Joh McGhee

Dear Friends

I am happy to invite you to be aware that a SS cell group continues.  I am working with Mark Everett and others to coordinate this Bible study / fellowship group.

In 14 weeks we cover some basic truths which bind the Seventh-day Adventist Family together.  Our textbook will be the Bible.

Please see me or Mark Everett with the list of topics. You can also email Shawn Latham at atstar65@me.com for a digital PDF version.

If you want to review some delightful truths, or you would like to bring someone who is inquisitive about what Seventh-day Adventists believe, this may be just what you are looking for.

Warmly,
Pastor John
