Hear the works that gave Bach a new voice in sacred music.
Prior to 1714, Bach's compositions were largely instrumental. But with his promotion to Konzertmeister in Weimar, Bach was given the honor of performing a cantata every month in the castle church. At last, the young composer had a well-funded vocal and instrumental ensemble worthy of expressing his music.
For this season’s Bach concert, CONCORA will perform three of his best-known Weimar cantatas, all composed in 1714. Please join us.
