Important Meeting March 30
This season's rainfall has been very welcome; we needed it! One downside, however, is that same rain means a bountiful crop of new fuel for grass fires next fall. It's still important for us to pursue our efforts to mitigate the fire hazards that exist in our community. Other potential emergencies, in particular earthquakes, also confront us.
For the last few months, CEPOA's Neighborhood Emergency Awareness Team, led by Annie Rohrbach-Walker and Patti Tackett, has been hard at work planning and collecting resources to help all of us be better prepared in the case of emergency. More recently, Ken Delfino volunteered to head up efforts to transform ourselves into a "Firewise" community.
Red Folders
NEAT volunteers are in the process of delivering special red Emergency Preparedness Folders to each Cabrillo household. Among the contents is a copy of the Household Information Form. Residents are encouraged to complete the form online rather than on paper. Click here for the online version. However, if you prefer the paper version, you're welcome to turn it in at the meeting.
Come learn more about the plans!
All Cabrillo residents are encouraged to attend the special informational meeting next Saturday, March 30, 10 AM at the CAL FIRE South-Bay Training Center, 880 Manzanita Drive, Los Osos (former Sunnyside School). This is your chance to learn, ask questions, tells us what you think.
