LUN To Host City Council
Candidates Wednesday
Candidates to address a number of issues,
including Initiative 300
Ballots go out April 15th for our next municipal election on Tuesday, May 7. Denver will be electing a mayor, city council members and voting on several city initiatives.
Initiative 300 would change how the city's public spaces are used, allowing public camping for an indefinite period of time in City of Denver spaces, including these locations in Lowry. Denver InterNeighborhood Cooperation provided neighborhoods with more information:

To help inform voters, Lowry United Neighborhoods is hosting a Candidate Forum on Wednesday, April 3, at the Eisenhower Chapel. Meet at 6:30 to hear from city council candidates for Council District 5: Michele Fry, Amanda Sawyer, Steve Replin, and Mary Beth Susman. At 7:15 we will hear from the candidates for city council-at-large: Robyn Kniech, Debbie Ortega, and Tony Pigford.
LUN will also be collecting donations of unopened toiletries for people in need. Gather up some items and come on out to meet your city's future leaders! |

Bishops Fundraises for Lowry Elementary
Bishops Cuts/Color recently helped raise money for the Lowry Elementary School 4th Grade Class Trip to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. They donated 20% of all tickets from clients who mentioned the fundraiser when they came in the shop. Last week, they were able to write a check for $108.60 to help with the trip. Thank you, Bishops!
Through April 15th, they'll be donating 20% of tickets from those who mention the Colorado Cancer Fund, which promotes screening and supports cancer patients. "We’re happy to do more of these fundraisers for organizations important to the community. It’s a no brainer for us. We want to give back," explains Alison Laevey, Bishops Lowry owner. |

Cleaning Up After Dogs
Lowry loves its canine companions and green space, so let's take care of them both! There are dog waste stations at every park in Lowry; please use them or bring your own bags on walks to keep our parks and green spaces clean and healthy. It's also city ordinance - owners must clean up after their pets or they may be fined ($150 first fine, $250 second fine, $500 third fine).

Spring Tree Maintenance
Spring is an ideal time for trimming your trees. Per Denver city ordinance *and* LCMA rules, there must be eight feet of clearance between tree branches and the sidewalk or street. Also, dead and damaged branches should be removed.

The Lowry Past & Present Home Tour
Lowry's 25th Silver Anniversary is this year! One of the many fun events planned is a Past & Present Home Tour. If you live in Lowry and would like your home to be featured on the tour, planned for October 6, let us know! We want to include historic repurposed buildings and homes as well as new construction of note. We are also seeking members for a monthly Steering Committee to help organize the tour. Please email Mary Carr if you think your home should be featured, or if you would like to join the committee.
