IDPP Supports Kogod M.S. Analytics
Site Visit to PAHO Headquarters

IDPP Executive Director and Kogod School of Business professor Dr. Derrick Cogburn led M.S. Analytics students in site visit to the World Health Organization’s Regional Office for the Americas.
Dr. Cogburn’s students are analyzing health data from Special Olympics International, and IDPP is exploring a multi-faced partnership with the Pan American Health Organization. Students participated in a hand-on simulated emergency, conducting real-time data analytics at the site visit.
"The entire site visit was incredible,” said IDPP Research Associate Nathan Banks. “I’m fascinated by the internal processes organizations like PAHO use. I’m so grateful to have been able to see what this line of work is like firsthand.”

Hosted bi-annually by the Center for Media and Social Impact (CMSI) at AU, "Story Movements" examines the current and future uses of storytelling for social change and advocacy.
“It was great to hear from some of the world's leading storytelling innovators," said IDPP Deputy Director and CMSI Research Fellow Dr. Filippo Trevisan. "Through storytelling, disability activists and groups are leveraging the power of their experiences in incredible ways."

IDPP Takes Field Trip to D.C's Newseum
|

In early March, IDPP staff and students took a pre-Spring Break visit to the Newseum in downtown D.C.
Students and staff left with a greater understanding of the powers of the press in publicizing civil rights movements and policy advocacy, including persons with disabilities.
