Dairyland Power Announces Major Solar Energy Facility 

Badger State Solar Project to be located in Jefferson County, Wis.

 

 

On March 18, 2019, Dairyland Power Cooperative and Ranger Power announced the 149-MW Badger State Solar Project. The utility-scale solar array will be located in Jefferson County, Wis., and will generate enough renewable energy to power over 20,000 homes!  Click here to read more.
 

Kuderer-Radcliffe Joins Dairyland Power’s Economic Development Team

Earlier this year, Dairyland Power welcomed Jenny Kuderer-Radcliffe to its economic development team in the newly created role of Economic Development Representative.  Jenny works with Craig Harmes, Manager - Business Development, to support and enhance the economic development efforts of Dairyland's 24 member cooperatives, a strategic priority identified and supported by Dairyland's members. 

Jenny comes to Dairyland with over 15 years of economic development experience at the state, regional and local level.  She spent nearly seven years with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation as a Regional Economic Development Director and also served as Associate Director of the La Crosse Area Development Corporation.  Jenny is a Certified Economic Developer through the International Economic Development Council and holds the Economic Development Finance Professional certification from the National Development Council.  Jenny looks forward to working with Dairyland’s members, local businesses, economic development  partners and site selectors in her new role.  

Alden Fire Station Under Construction with $694,880 USDA Loan from
Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative

Construction of a new fire station means that safety and peace of mind will be a lot closer to home for families in the Town of Alden, Polk County, Wis. Helping to finance the new fire station is a $694,880 zero-interest, pass-through loan from Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative, via the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Economic Development Loan (REDLG) program.  Click here to read more.

Northwest Illinois Economic Development Bring Coding Academy to Illinois Youth

In December, Northwest Illinois Economic Development introduced Hour of Code to 10 students during National Computer Science Education Week. Hour of Code is a national, one-hour introduction to coding and computer science. Since December, Hour of Code sessions have been hosted at three other locations for 4th - 8th grade students.  During each session the students write code to help the character “Byte” reach his goals. A final session will be hosted in May and will feature a friendly team code writing competition.

Trinity Fabricators Honored with
Iowa Venture Award

Trinity Fabricators, located near New Albin, Iowa, was honored by the Iowa Area Development Group as a recipient of a 2018 Iowa Venture Award.  This award recognizes businesses "for their significant contributions to Iowa's economy through entrepreneurial leadership, innovation and the creation of job opportunities."  The structural steel fabricator recently completed a significant growth project with the assistance of loans from Allamakee-Clayton Electric Cooperative and Dairyland Power Cooperative.  Click here to read more.

Eyota Market to Remain Open with Support From People's Energy Cooperative

The Eyota Market in Eyota, Minn. will remain open as a grocery store under new ownership.  People's Energy Cooperative provided a $100,000 loan and the Eyota EDA provided $25,000 in financing to assist in this important project for the community.  Click here to read more.

Up to $2M, 0% Interest
Economic Development Financing Available


Up to $2 million in 0% interest rate financing may be available for your next business or community development project through your local electric cooperative.  Funds can be used for business expansion and start-up.  Eligible purposes include real estate, buildings (new and existing), machinery and equipment, and/or working capital.  Community facilities and infrastructure are also eligible purposes.  Loan amounts are determined by overall project scale, local cooperative policies, job creation/retention and other typical loan approval criteria.  Contact your local electric cooperative or Dairyland Power Cooperative's economic development team for more information.
