Are you a young member of the GNRC? Are you dynamic, enthusiastic, good at relating with other people, and with excellent communications and leadership skills? If so...
Arigatou International is looking for 4 young people (aged 14 to 18) to be part of the Committee for the Promotion and Realization of the Rights of the Child, a team that will work together during this year to contribute to the celebrations of the 30th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.  
 
As a member of the committee, you will be the representative of hundreds of young members of the GNRC around the world.
 
The committee will be in charge of:
 
  • Developing a special campaign to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child;
  • Promoting and coordinating meaningful participation of young people in Arigatou International’s online community;
  • Building an attractive social media strategy for engaging GNRC youth in the promotion of children's rights and of their activities with their GNRC groups to work towards ending violence against children.  
  
What you will gain from becoming part of the team:
 
  • Professional experience in an international working environment;
  • Experience in developing online tools, producing videos, podcast, webinars, etc;
  • Knowledge of trends on child rights, intercultural learning, and peacebuilding;
  • Exposure to the leading work of Arigatou International and its staff and partners;
  • Meaningful involvement in the development of campaigns to empower children and youth.
The internship begins on 15 April and ends on 1 December 2019.
A certificate and a token of appreciation will be granted to all interns at the end of the internship.

To be selected you have to:
  • Be actively involved in your local GNRC group;
  • Be between 14 and 18 years old;  
  • Be able to dedicate a maximum of four hours a week (16 hours a month) for your work as an intern;
  • Have leadership skills to motivate and inspire other young people;
  • Have great interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Be enthusiastic, proactive and open to working in an intercultural environment and open to interacting with people from different cultural and religious backgrounds;
  • Be savvy (good knowledge of web and social media) and quick to become familiar with new online tools;
  • You should have good communication skills (written and oral) of at least ONE of the following languages: English, Spanish, French or Portuguese 
  • Please, note that if you are selected we will request that your parents or caregivers sign a consent form authorizing you to get involved in this activity
