Hy-Vee Receipts DUE Next Week

Your receipts earn CASH for Hiawatha! Put your receipts in the bins under the PTO bulletin board.

Receipts dated through March 31, 2019, need to be submitted by early next week (April 1) so they can be submitted to Hy-Vee for redemption. Please continue to keep all Hy-Vee receipts dated after that for the next submission period.

Statewide Assessment April 2-5

Between April 2-5, third through fifth grades students at Hiawatha Elementary will be taking the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP). Make-up tests will be the following week. The ISASP provides information about the content, skills, and abilities your child is learning at school in the areas of reading, mathematics, and science.

You can help your child do their best by having them get a good night’s sleep, start the day with a little breakfast, and offering support for their personal best efforts.

Ralph Breaks the Internet

The movie is FREE
Bring blankets or something else to sit on.
Concessions will be available.
Doors open at 6, and the movie starts at 6:30.
Students must attend WITH an ADULT; no drop-offs.

Friday, April 5 is also Spirit Day at Hiawatha Elementary. Students and adults are invited to wear school colors (Red & White) or school logo-wear.

If so, we need YOU to join the PTO board for next year! Many of us are "aging out" in 2020 (did I just type 2020??!!) We would like to bring several new people onto the board to "learn the ropes" and co-chair positions in 2019-20. Contact a board member or email secretary@hiawathapto.org to learn more. We would love to answer your questions! We will elect new members at the next PTO Meeting on Thursday, April 11, 2019, 6:30-7:30 pm.

5th Graders are turning in Hy-Vee coupon book orders today! Do you have orders to turn in?

You can also order your Coupon Book online. They are only $10 each! Proceeds go towards the 5th Grade class trip.

Spring Fling Thank You!

A big THANK YOU to all of the volunteers and sponsors that helped to make the Spring Fling a big success! We could not have done it without YOU!!
