Hello Broadcast Amsterdam friends
Phew, we did it! We got over 100 accumulative live listeners for our all-day marathon broadcast on World Radio Day in February, which may not sound much to you, but we're pleased with it. It was fun doing it and we also wanted to mark the start of our first proper live season, with several weekly shows now broadcasting live on the station. What else?
Broadcast Club invite | This Saturday 30 March from 10-12:00 noon we've got an open broadcast session at our radio-podcasting studio on Kinkerstraat in Oud West. Listeners and interested volunteers are all welcome. Please RSVP so we know numbers, either via the Facebook event page or by email to info@broadcastamsterdam.nl. For this session we'll focus on sharing info about local news and events in Amsterdam, so if you have something to share, come with a script, but if not we'll give you some text to voice.
Impact Unpacked launched | Helen Maynard-Hill and Chloe de Roos Feinberg, local impact experts broadcast a weekly one-hour show bringing you stories on social enterprise projects, ideas, issues, and all things impact-related happening in Amsterdam and close by. Expect lots of insights, live interviews, and more. Plus Chloe and Helen's music picks in between. This new show has broadcast episodes on 'Reducing single-use plastics' and 'Community' so far. It's a short series, with only three more episodes of the current season to come. Upcoming shows will focus on sustainable transport, food and then fashion. Listen in every Monday from 12:00-13:00 until 15 April. But hey, if you miss it, you can listen back after the show, no worries, see the Impact Unpacked show page for podcasts, blog posts and more. And if you have a local social impact story, a question or event to share on these themes, email/tweet us (@broadcastams) with details and we could cover it on the show.

Matt and Maxine lovin' it | They loved their spot on World Radio Day so much, they came back for more, lots more. This laugh-a-minute twosome are live on air every Tuesday during the 'drive time' slot 17:00-18:30. They spill the beans on some great events in the city, mixed with their unique soundtrack: garage, electronica, whatever.
Watch this space | We'll have a few more live shows launching soon, including the Amsterdam Sports Show (from Jens, Bill and Chris) and a kind of music journal by Ifa - she's calling it On the Radar. But there's certainly space for more, so follow us, keep listening (we're on air 24/7 and there's plenty of listen back content on our website) and get in touch if you'd like to pitch a show or help out in some way. Know someone who'd be a great local radio host? Forward this email to them, we want to get as many different voices as we can on Broadcast Amsterdam. We'll also plan more editions of our Broadcast Club soon - we're thinking a jingle-making session and a music curation session.
