Sunday Service - March 31st

Matthew Pargeter-Villarreal will return to our pulpit.

TWO IMPORTANT FILM EVENTS NEXT WEEK:

TUESDAY, APRIL 2nd
The First Tuesday Social Justice Film Festival Presents:

"The Brainwashing of My Dad"

This screening is cosponsored by the
Dallas Peace & Justice Center

Special Note:
Filmmaker Jen Senko will be joining our discussion after the film screening via Skype!

A film by Jen Senko

Ms. Senko’s groundbreaking film examines the rise of right-wing media through the lens of her father, whose immersion in its daily propaganda had radicalized him and his new fanaticism rocked the very foundation of their family. She discovered that this phenomenon was occurring with alarming frequency in living rooms across America. The film reveals the consequences that this radicalized media is having on people, families, America, and the world.

CitySquare's External Affairs Urban Engagement Cinema invites you to an exclusive and free screening of the new film "Rigged: The Voter Suppression Playbook."

Narrated by Jeffrey Wright, and shot during the 2016 election season, Rigged exposes how our most important right, the right to vote, is being undercut by a decade of dirty tricks and political shenanigans -- from gerrymandering to new voter restriction laws and from wide-scale voter purges to the 2013 gutting of the Voting Rights Act by the Supreme Court.

Join us for a viewing of this phenomenal film, followed by an engaging panel discussion.

This event is free! Registration is strongly encouraged.

UUCOC Board Meeting

This evening, Tuesday, March 26th
7:00 pm Faith Building Lobby

All are welcome to attend.
A Community Garden Project!

The Oak Cliff Veggie Store and For Oak Cliff are partnering in a major undertaking.

This Saturday, four gardens will be installed on the same day at the same time, including one on our campus. You can register to volunteer and get a free t-shirt at: https://foroakcliff.org/cultivatethecommunity/

Please join us at 8:00 am on the east side of the large parking lot. (Please park over on the west side of the lot - and not in our main parking lot.)  All supplies for the garden are being provided, but snacks and water would be appreciated contributions.

Do you have an unused purse?
Here's how you can put it to good use!

If you have an old purse you’d like to donate we’d love to share it with someone in need. We are also looking for donations of sanitary napkins, tampons, soaps, snacks and any other personal need item a woman might be able to use. Thank you for your help in sharing the love!

NOTE: We are grateful for all donations, but we ask that you not donate high-end purses, as they could cause the woman to become a target.
