Dear Friends of the Village Trip,
We are back this year for our second annual festival!! Imagine a program bigger, better and more powerful than the first. We are “bringing it all back home” to Washington Square from September 26 through the 29. Here is a sneak peak at the plans:
More free music: in addition to the concert in Washington Square Park, we will present several performances with the New School of Jazz
More participation by iconic Village venues: The Blue Note, Bitter End Cafe, Joe's Pub and others will present programming from folk to jazz to newcomers to the Village scene during The Village Trip
New poetry and literature programs free to the public: readings, workshops and presentations at local Village churches and other venues
New Social Justice and Civic Engagement programs in collaboration with NYU and the Association of Cultural Equity and others: all free to the public
The Village registers as one of America's most unique places - a neighborhood with a link to social justice expressed in music, poetry, literature and art. The Village Trip seeks to bring people back downtown for cultural and historic experiences and for civic engagement. To do this, we need your support. The Village needs your support.
