Hello Neighborhood Action Ministry Team!

  • The NAM presentation at WEF last Wednesday went so well! Thank you coaches Patty and Courtney for being there and for making a beautiful presentation about your work with the Chess Club at Aspen Pointe. We missed coach Jack, he is traveling to the Holy Land. It was great to see the chess students and their families telling us how they feel about their opportunity to engage with RPC volunteers to learn how to play chess. Thank you, Colette Davis for presenting our strategic vision and planning process. I am sure it was a learning experience for the audience to get information about who we are and what we do in the community. Please feel free to contact us, if you have any questions, we will be very happy to have a conversation with you.
  • Groveway resumed their activities. We are now working on lessons of hope. This week our students learned about Noah’s story, they discussed believing in God’s promises. Enjoy the pictures.
  • On Thursday, Cade presented a very interactive STEM lesson at SSOC, students were able to build “catapults”, out of popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and plastic spoons. Then they had a small competition to see which catapult shot inside the baking pans. The students had so much fun, and the winner Destiny won a STEM lesson book. Now she will need  to prepare one lesson and present it to the group in the third week of April. Thank you Cade, for always making SSOC meetings so fun and engaging.
  • The volunteer breakfast was fabulous on Sunday, thank you to all our NAM volunteers who make these programs possible in our community. Nothing could be done without your love and care for our neighbors.
  • Talk of the town: Lupton Center's look at Roswell is on Monday evening. We are expecting to get more information about the findings and recommendations they have for NAM and the recommendations they have for our future.
  • A RyeX-NAM planning meeting will happen on Tuesday. It is very exciting that we are now helping to plan the WELL’s summer program.
  • Next week is Spring Break so we will not have community programing. We will resume regular activities the week of April 8.
Happy and Safe Spring Break to All!
