[Main Library | Wed, April 3 @ 6pm]
Topic: No Fear Poetry

Writers @ LPL is a writing group hosted by the Lakeland Public Library.
It meets the first Wednesday of each month in the Meeting Room.  There are two sessions, one for beginning writers and one for those at an intermediate level.

First Steps for New Writers (6 – 7pm)
Poetry (Reading & Writing) for Beginners
Does the idea of reading, much less writing, poetry freak you out?
We’ll examine how poems are “made” and take the mystery out of poetry.

The Next Level for Intermediate Writers (7 – 8:50pm)
(Poetry) Forms Can Be Fun
There’s more to poetic forms than sonnets or sestinas.
We’ll explore a few “new” forms – golden shovel, monostich, and cento – that just might change your idea of fun.

No registration is required.
