Fifth Sunday Mission Offering this Sunday, March 31
This Sunday, March 31, we will collect our special fifth Sunday mission offering. As we worship (during the second hymn) congregants will be invited to bring a special offering forward and place it in the baskets on the table. The recipient of this month’s fifth Sunday mission offering will be the Rise Against Hunger meal packing event scheduled for Saturday, May 4. Cash or checks made out to “CMPC” with “RAH” written in the memo line can be placed in the baskets. We invite you to give generously to this special mission initiative. We invite you to join us in helping to end world hunger. There are two ways you can make a direct impact. You can participate in our Rise Against Hunger meal packing event on May 4 and/or you can donate to help pay for the cost of the meals. The cost is $0.29 a meal. Since we are planning to pack 20,000 meals, the total cost for our event is $5,800. CMPC’s Mission and Local Outreach Committee is funding a portion of the effort, our brothers and sisters at Mt. Hebron Presbyterian Church are joining us in financial support, and we need to raise the balance with your help. Rise Against Hunger works closely with their in-country Impact Partners to distribute meals in nearly 900 school feeding programs around the world. Providing hot meals in school increases enrollment and attendance. There is also improved participation in class and overall academic performance. When you are nourishing lives, you are also nourishing minds.
