I got fired from my job at the bank yesterday. An old lady came in and asked me to check her balance.
So I pushed her over.

The Big Reveal
Some Items Of Interest We've Sold This Month.
Below: An upgraded 150amp alternator for a Landcruiser VDJ79.
Below: A roll of attachment chain to suit a Jetstream Grouper. These come with premium quality paddles already attached.
Below: a huge order of nuts, bolts and fasteners from premium supplier Bremick. This will set our customer up with a complete workshop stock. For bulk bolts, give Blatch's a call.
Below: 42.5-tonne rated bow shackles. Not for your average box trailer!
Below: This customer required his V-rings in high-temp and chemical resistant viton rubber.
Below: These are German-made double-row spherical roller bearings with a tapered shaft. These bearings need to be fitted to a tapered 'adaptor sleeve' which then locks the bearing onto the parallel shaft.
Below: Another Cruiser customer is upgrading their clutch to an Exedy Sports Tuff clutch kit.
Below: This is a ceramic-coated, brass-caged ball bearing from FAG in Germany which we had flown in from overseas for a customer's electric motor rebuild. The ceramic coating helps to protect against the deterioration caused by electrical-resistance.
Below: These are automatic drains for a pneumatic line, made by Festo in Germany.
Below: Mechanical lever pneumatic valves.
Below: Brake assembly from an SEW-Eurodrive electric motor.
Below: Check out this bad boy; a magnificent double-row spherical roller bearing made in Japan by NSK. Unfortunately it's lubricated and wrapped so I better not unwrap it to show you!
Below: This is a single-row, angular contact ball bearing. Unlike the more common standard ball bearings, this bearing has a heavy shoulder high on one side, and a heavy shoulder low on the other side. This means the bearing can tolerate thrust (or sideways) force. When thrust is applied, the balls hit the shoulder and can't pop free. This unit is made by ball bearing specialists NTN, in Japan. You might recognise the name NTN from the ultra premium locking collar bearings called "Black Bearings".
Below: A pneumatic filter, regulator and lubricator from Festo.
Below: My customer wanted an assortment kit of just the airline fittings he commonly uses. So I made him one!

Gosford Classic Car Museum
Closing The Stable Doors
You may recall back in November's newsletter we included a section on the Gosford Classic Car Museum and how much we enjoyed seeing the collection. The owner of the museum had a bust-up with the Australian Tax Office and as a result, the museum and car showroom is now closed but not before auctioning off the inventory in a much publicised event in April. Click for some auction results and prices here.
Below: This Aston Martin DB5 (Yes, think James Bond) sold for AUD$1.55m. Read about that here.

Below: In happier times, this museum was a huge draw-card for car fans, like Wilhelmina and Beatrice, below.

Below: We had a visit from the Salter boys from Canberra, who were in the area visiting their Grandparents in Forbes. The boys were heading to the Zoo in Dubbo but I have no doubt the highlight of their trip will have been my lecture on ball bearings. Left to right: Oscar, George and Will are pictured with their first ever bearing from Blatch's.

Prestige Rural Round Up
To Dream The Impossible Dream

This compound 'Kentgrove', just outside of Goulburn, is evidence that the current owners don't do anything by halves. The price tag is $2.5m "negotiable" which may mean they'd accept my offer of $400k. We'll see. Click here for all the details.

Great-Grandfather In Disguise
The Wise Guys
When Frank Guise came in to collect his new muffler for his Hyundai Santa Fe, I asked him about his family. He told me some news hot off the press: he's just found out his 16th Great-Grandchild is on the way. That's on top of his 22 Grandchildren and 7 children. Christmas must be expensive at the Guise's.

We've just celebrated Wilhelmina's 5th Birthday! Pictured is Wils with her sister Beatrice and cousin George. If anyone knew her as a baby, it's a miracle she made it to one, let alone 5. The rainbow cake took Susie a fair while and a fair bit of sanity. Next year it'll be a mud cake from Woollies if I have anything to do with it.
