ELN Faculty Fellow Proposals Due April 1

Develop high-impact learning opportunities for students in collaboration with local and global partners.

UB students seek opportunities to learn in engaging ways, while at the same time, departments seek to connect students to opportunities that will strengthen their learning and prepare them for post-graduation success.

To support these complementary goals, the Experiential Learning Network (ELN) is excited to embark on the creation of a digital “Project Portal” that will connect undergraduate students from all backgrounds and fields of study with partners and projects, both locally and around the world.

To support this exciting new initiative, we are seeking Faculty Fellows who are interested in working with the ELN to facilitate new project-based learning opportunities. Fellows can engage their existing partners or work with the ELN’s partners to develop projects for students. Fellows will mentor student projects through digital badges run by the ELN and/or teach courses (new or existing) that include the projects they develop with their partner.

Whether you have a partner with whom you would like to work or you would like to explore the partnerships through the ELN, please submit your ideas through the application to get started! An ELN staff member will reach out after the April 1 deadline to discuss your proposal.

"Serving as an ELN Fellow this past semester has been a very good experience. The idealism and enthusiasm of our Romance Languages students restored my optimism, and they gained confidence as they saw the relevance of their language and culture training for effective community service. We all learned a great deal about the refugee experience and developed a lasting partnership with a great community organization, Journey's End, as well as a like-minded organization in Toronto, Romero House. With the support and encouragement of the ELN team, RLL has been able to expand its experiential learning opportunities, which have attracted almost twice as many students for the spring as for the fall. The expertise and experience of other ELN Fellows has also been invaluable. Highly recommended!"
