Welcome to the first issue of KDLA's State Records Branch's quarterly newsletter! We hope to provide you with updates from the Branch, tips on transferring and destruction, and other helpful information to make records management easier!

Commission Updates

The State Libraries, Archives, and Records Commission met on March 14, 2019, and approved revisions to the following retention schedules: Department of Agriculture; Board of Cosmetology; Commonwealth Office of Technology; Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources; Department of Housing, Buildings, and Construction; and the Personnel Cabinet.

The Commission is the approving body of all records retention schedules. If you need to make a revision to your agency's schedule, contact your Records Analyst.

Did You Know?
Authorized Records Access is something we take seriously. If someone hasn't been authorized by your agency's Records Officer to retrieve or review a record stored at the State Records Center, we will refuse their request. Update your agency's Records Request Authorization by contacting your Records Analyst.

We are offering general records management training workshops. These are standalone workshops that will cover topics such as records retention scheduling, managing electronic records, transferring records to KDLA, and destroying records.

The sessions will be held at KDLA (300 Coffee Tree Road, Frankfort) in the Activity Room on the following dates:
