While working together in groups can be fun and exciting, it's not always easy. How can we collaborate with each other without replicating oppressive hierarchical structures or getting too bogged-down in group process?
Specifically designed for those working together towards social change, this dynamic, participatory training will provide you with everything you need to build organizational capacity and skillfully navigate the inevitable ups and downs of group life.
Over the course of six weekly sessions, you will learn, discuss, and practice how to:
- Set ground rules that help foster a healthy group culture
- Clarify and develop shared purpose and direction
- Communicate in a way that invites deeper collaboration
- Transform conflicts into opportunities for growth
- Run efficient, inclusive, and enjoyable meetings
- Choose among a variety of decision-making strategies
- Cultivate a team that functions like a mature ecosystem
- Sustain member motivation and involvement over time
Because a group's outer success depends largely on the quality of its internal relationships, learning how to work more effectively together may be the most important investment you can make in your organization's future.
In addition to focusing on specific case studies that are relevant to you and answering your toughest questions, we will also explore collaboration between groups and how to integrate lessons learned into your daily life.
