Hello Neighborhood Action Ministry Team!

  • First, I would like to let you all know that my trip to Guinea, Africa was super great! I had an opportunity to meet some Peace Corps officials and volunteers, a friend who works for USAID who works at the US Embassy in Conakry, and most importantly, I got to meet so many beautiful people in the Haute Region at the village where my daughter serves. It was so good to see that regardless of the living conditions and having so little, people are happy and loving and they share all they have. It was very rewarding, as a mother, to witness how my daughter has developed herself in a very independent, determined, loving and joyful servant.I cannot ask for more. I was even able to celebrate her birthday with her village family with a “Piñata party”.Yes……we made the piñatas! I also showed my African moves while dancing with women along the sounds of drums, during a sweet and festive welcoming party they had for me. Please enjoy a couple of pictures, I will show you more when I see you.
  • The NAM Champions vision meeting last week was very productive, and we feel that we will soon come up with a solid portrait of who we are as NAM.
  • Groveway activities resumed last week, we talked about St. Patrick’s Day. We are excited for the end of the school year and summer, but we cannot do this work without your support. Please consider being a Groveway volunteer.
  • On Thursday, Mrs. Kelly, from Learn to Grow, Inc., presented at SSOC. She had students write briefs definitions on who they are. This exercise helped them to see themselves as valued individuals and contributors to society.
  • NAM will be featured at WEF on Wednesday, March 20. We will have Chess coaches Courtney and Patty (we will miss coach Jack, he is traveling to Holy Land), chess players and their families as our special guests. Colette Davis will present about where we are in our strategic visioning and planning. Please plan to attend to support our ministry and to get information about who wevare and what we do in the community.
  • We have started the enrollment of our community’s students into VBS and other RPC Summer programs. Please feel free to tell us your ideas about how we can be more effective in bringing our community into RPC. We will also need van drivers, and transportation volunteers for VBS, please let know if you would like to help us.
  • On Sunday, March 24, you are invited to our fabulous “Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast” please plan to attend, we would like to honor and thank you for all you do for our church and especially for our NAM. We would never accomplish all we do without your hard, loving work.
  • Ryex-NAM planning meeting will happen on Tuesday, March 26.
Please share pictures, you can send them to Donna Brodsky
