Data Center Development Continues to Evolve
Building a data center is an extremely complex undertaking, and those interested in developing, acquiring, or operating a data center must develop a clear business plan before making any significant expenditures. If a company is considering operating a dedicated data center, it should calculate the cost of ownership as compared to available outsourcing options, such as a collocated data center or cloud-delivered services.

And while all of these options continue to exist, the increased degree of time sensitivity for data transmission and processing is even surpassing the capability of cloud-delivered services. As a result, edge data centers are becoming the “wave of the future.” Edge data centers provide a powerful tool for the implementation of emerging digital applications, bringing content and processing power closer to the end-user.

Thus, as the digital economy continues to expand, data centers have become a multibillion-dollar industry. And since these centers are huge power users, operators need to focus on making sure that power is not interrupted. This requires careful construction in order to keep clients’ mission-critical data secure and available 24/7.
